YWCA Empowerment Center offers Rapid Rehousing and Homelessness Prevention programs. The Rapid Rehousing offers financial and case management services to families with children and individuals experiencing homelessness. Homelessness Prevention assists families and individuals who currently have housing but are at risk of losing it within 14 days. 80% of Rapid Rehousing graduates have an improved income, and 62% of Homelessness Prevention graduates have an improved status.
YWCA Children's Center believes all children have a right to receive quality preschool and childcare in a safe and nurturing environment. At the YWCA Children's Center, we are committed to the social, physical, mental and emotional development of each child. We are proud of our State of Iowa Quality Rating System ratings of 4, the highest in the area and reflecting our commitment to the highest quality childcare! 78% of our families enrolled in preschool and childcare receive tuition assistance.
YWCA Youth Department keeps kids active, safe and healthy and is just another reason the YWCA is on a mission! The Youth Department offers After School Programs, Enrichment Classes, Summer Camps, TaeKwonDo, and so much more. Our mission focused "YWise Girls Club" is designed to empower young women to become leaders in our community and beyond by building self-esteem as they join together to complete community service projects, explore career options and learn about healthy living.
YWCA Fitness empower members through overall health and wellness programs. We offer over 70 land-based fitness classes, 44 water-based fitness classes each week for all fitness levels. Free babysitting is provided to help parents utilize the facility and model healthy behavior for their children.
YWCA Aquatics boasts the only indoor pool open to the public in our area. For new swimmers, we offer swimming lessons which teach people of all ages and abilities how to swim and be safe around water. For more advanced swimmers, the YWCA offers swimming clinics and workshops throughout the year.
YWCA Senior Services focuses on the health and wellness specifically geared to meet the needs of our 50+ population by promoting fall prevention, improving balance, muscle strengthening, and increasing flexibility in each fitness class. The YWCA 50+ Club provides a sense of community with social and educational programs throughout the year.
